After 5 years as a company, Powder Keg have decided to call it a day. We’ve had an absolute blast with each other and will remain the best of friends, but it seems like the right time to stop.

We are no more. RIP us.

And so, the end is near. So we thought we’d empty our bank account and give money to a theatre company. The fund is a no strings attached, no need to explain or overly formal sort of thing. We just want to distribute what resources we have left to a theatre company that may need it right now. We want to give what we have left to a theatre company that excites us and is new to us, a group who we don’t know who just need a little pot of money to go and do something great with or to fail with. We don’t mind. 

 

Criteria

 

Ideally, the theatre company has 2 or more members involved.

 

We don’t want to give our money to someone we already know. We want to hear from new people. If we’ve ever had a pint with you or hung out, then unfortunately you’re not eligible for the fund. 

 

This isn’t an emerging artist fund. This is just an artist fund. You can have done 20 shows or 0 shows. Your shows could be 3 hour epics or be 1 minute video pieces. If you define yourevles as an artist then you are an artist to us.

We thought we’d have a big wide window so people aren't rushing to get an application in. The application window will be open for 6 weeks with the deadline at 5pm on May 17th.  We have attached the questions below so nothing is hidden. We've set up a crowfunder so we can build the pot up. We ideally want to raise an additionally £250. If you want to, please consider dropping a couple of coins here. We will also be running a few fundraising events. Keep your eyes peeled for that!
